Book title: Bared to you
Author: Sylvia Day
Genre: Erotic Romance
Book description: Gideon Cross came into my life like lightning in the darkness—beautiful and brilliant, jagged and white-hot. I was drawn to him as I'd never been to anything or anyone in my life. I craved his touch like a drug, even knowing it would weaken me. I was flawed and damaged, and he opened those cracks in me so easily...
Gideon knew. He had demons of his own. And we would become the mirrors that reflected each other's most private wounds... and desires.
The bonds of his love transformed me, even as I prayed that the torment of our pasts didn't tear us apart..
Review: This is a 3 and a half stars book. This is the first book in the series, the second one is Reflected in You, and the third one is out in June 4th 2013.
This story reminded me of Fifty Shades of Grey (yes, I read it!!) but with better writting. It's nonetheless a good story and with a strong female character.
So, Eva Tramell moves to New York City with her gay bestfriend Cary, when she gets a job there.
When she takes a walk through Manhattan to find the Crossfire Building where the office of her job is located, she bumps into Gideon (inside the building) and falls. Literally, she falls, butt first, and when she looks up, she thinks she's seeing the most beautiful male on earth (cliché). Although she thinks is Dark and Dangerous she feels something changed in the air (chemistry!!)
"Five minutes with Mr. Dark and Dangerous, and I was filled with an edgy, restless energy."
Eva works at an advertising agency and in her second day in the job, her boss tells her that they have a request for proposal for a new vodka. And who owns the new vodka brand??? That's it! Gideon Cross. Oh and by the way, he's the owner of the building. Nice ^^
Eva and her boss go to a meeting, to show what direction they are going with the publicity, and she once again bumps into Gideon.
“Hello again,” he murmured, the vibration of his voice making me ache all over. “Always a pleasure running into you, Eva.”
After the meeting, Gideon asks Eva to speak with her and goes straight to the point...-
“Are you sleeping with anyone?”
“Why is that any business of
“Because I want to fuck you, Eva. I need to
know what’s standing in my way, if anything.”
As you can see, really smooth. Who said romance was dead?? I'm kidding. He's blunt, yes, and it's a good thing :)
At first Eva doesn't want anything to do with him, but he's very tenacious and starts to win her over, with better conversation I might add.
And I'm not saying more, cause I don't want to give anything away. I'll tell you one thing thou, Eva story is nothing like Anastacia, Eva is a very real girl, with a very real past. Gideon is no Christian Grey, he has his past too and his demons but there is no real BDSM in her, at least theres no playroom.
Overall, is a good love story, with a lot of sex, and those parts are really well written.
Hope you like this book.
